** Current Federal legislation has yet to be finalized for the upcoming 2012 halibut season. A "Catch Sharing Plan" that would essentially allow charter captains to lease a portion of the commerical halibut quota has not been adopted for the Southeast region. As it's currently proposed, the plan would impliment a variable slot limit for guided sport fishermen in Southeast Alaska. Becuase of the undetermined legislation and the cost of halibut permits, Ty has opted not to pursue a halibut permit this season. All other bottom fish can be caught and retained per the Alaska Dept. Fish and Game 2012 Regulations.
